Dubai Marina has several restaurants and cafés along the waterside promenade, while The Walk at JBR has even more. Fine dining and Johnny Rockets burger places satisfy a wide variety of tastes and budgets. The Marina Mall food hall, with coffee cafes and famous retailers, is a culinary paradise. Opticians, pharmacies, retail boutiques, bookstores, and Waitrose provide a comprehensive shopping experience. A charming outdoor market at JBR sells apparel, souvenirs, and unique things, and several supermarkets are nearby. Pier 7's seven stories have French, Mexican, British, and Far East restaurants with waterfront views for a unique dining experience.
Land and water blend perfectly at Dubai Marina and JBR. A central waterway links to the Arabian Gulf, creating an island with multiple highways. Jebel Ali Port and the JAFZA free zone anchor one end, flanked by the Gulf and Sheikh Zayed Road.
Recreation & Education
The coastline and 7-kilometre marina promenade are great for runners, walkers, and bikers. Watch for parachutists landing at Skydive Dubai. Yachting and jet skiing are available, and youngsters may play on inflatable assault courses offshore. Marina Mall has a theatre and kids' play area on firm ground. Many gyms, spas, workout courses, and nail and beauty salons are nearby. Beachfront and marina walkways are popular with residents and visitors. The Dubai Tram serves both neighbourhoods, and scheduled water taxis are convenient.
Willow Children's Nursery in Dubai Marina, Toddler Town British Nursery, Monroe's Nursery, and Kidville Nursery in JBR provide preschools. Dubai British School in The Springs, Emirates International School in The Meadows, and Regent International School in The Greens are all a short trip away by vehicle or school bus.
