New Salik gates in Dubai: Business Bay to be one of the busiest tolls
Dubai's Salik toll system is set to expand with the addition of two new toll gates in Business Bay and Al Safa South by the end of November 2024, bringing the total number of Salik gates in the emirate to 10. These new gates are expected to significantly impact traffic flow and revenue, with the Business Bay gate on Al Khail Road projected to become one of the busiest toll points, comparable to the Al Barsha and Al Safa gates.
The new Business Bay toll is strategically located, serving as a crucial route for motorists from areas like Sharjah, Al Nahda, and Al Qusais accessing Al Khail Road. This high-traffic volume is expected to make the Business Bay gate a major contributor to Salik's revenue.
The introduction of these gates reflects the city's continuous efforts to manage its growing traffic demands and optimize road infrastructure. With a valuation of AED 2.734 billion for both gates combined, Salik anticipates around 111 million revenue-generating trips from these new tolls in 2025.
