Dubai Metro, a rapid transit rail network, symbolizes the city's rapid growth and commitment to sustainability. Known as the world's largest automated driver-less train system, the Dubai Metro transports 500,000 people daily, significantly enhancing travel convenience and cost-effectiveness within the Emirate.

Overview of Dubai Metro

The Dubai Metro system includes two main lines, the Red Line and the Green Line, with future expansions like the Blue Line underway.

Red Line

The Red Line, spanning from Centrepoint (R11) to Expo 2020 (R76), is crucial for Dubai’s transportation network. It runs parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road and connects major commercial and residential areas, including landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and Dubai International Airport. Key interchange stations include Union, BurJuman, and Jabel Ali, facilitating transfers to the Green Line and the Dubai Tram at Jumeirah Lake Towers and Dubai Marina stations. With 35 stations, the Red Line is known for its punctuality and modern facilities.

Green Line

The Green Line runs from Etisalat Station to Creek Station, passing through historic and culturally rich neighborhoods with 20 stations. Major stops include Dubai Creek, Al Ghubaiba, and Dubai Healthcare City. The Green Line’s 22.5 kilometers of track cover zones 5 and 6, enhancing connectivity to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and commercial centers.

Blue Line

The planned Blue Line will add 14 stations to Dubai’s metro network, providing additional connectivity and reducing congestion. It will serve various residential and commercial areas, including Bur Dubai, Deira, Downtown, Business Bay, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Marina, and JBR. Slated for completion by 2029, the Blue Line will also connect to the Etihad Rail network.
